Ethan's New Challenge

Thanks Uncle Mike for the trumpet! Ethan is very excited about getting started with it, and so is his piano teacher. Eric and I are just excited for him!

Save Big With 'Coupon Mom'

I heard about www.couponmom on Good Morning America. Thought I would get it out and came across this video. Is there anyone out there that has used this method to grocery shop? I thought I would give it a try. I'll let you know how it works.

Long time, no write

Sorry for being a lazy blogger!
The past few days have shown the promise of spring. The kids and I saw a green plant along side our driveway. Everyone was excited. The kids played outside all day yesterday and took advantage of the 69 degree weather. The girls made it out today for about 1/2 hour before the rains came. From what I hear, the rain is going to turn to ice by tomorrow morning.
There is not too much going on with us. Eric and I are going to be leading up a small group through our church, so we are looking forward opening up our home and making new friends. I am welcoming the motivation to keep up with house work.
The 3 oldest kids will start soccer next month. This will be Lily's first time in any organized sport, so she is excited.
Spring break is coming up on us soon. We will be traveling to Atlanta to run the ING Ga. marathon. I signed up for the whole marathon, but I'm not sure that I will run the whole thing or change over to the 1/2 marathon. My full marathon training has suffered due to having an endless cold this late fall- early winter. I am debating on running a good half marathon or running a slow full marathon and be extra sore. I know the choice seems obvious, but it is hard once you get the marathon bug.
ERic's new partner starts this week. We have been waiting for him for a LONG time. I am antsy to meet him as I'm sure Eric is antsy to have another male in the office. If anyone needs help posting on this blog, email me and I'll explain it to you. My email is missywymer@yahoo.com

Thanks Mimi and Grandpa Ken!

Time and weather finally cooperated Saturday and Marcus and I were able to take his new scooter (a Christmas gift from Mimi and Grandpa Ken) out for a spin. We went to Mooresville Park and Marcus scooted along while I ran 4.4 and then he rode his bike for 2.2. I wasn't able to take much video since I was running late, but the look on Marcus' face should tell you enough.

kidstoned vitamins

Where do you get these?!

Marcus' tooth

Marcus had his tooth pulled today. He said that it hurt a little. As you can tell, he is still pretty numb. Hopefully the tooth fairy will be good to him!

A Question For All

Some how, Eric's brother Aaron and a couple of us started discussing sin and Satan. So my question is; Where in the Bible is the first story of Satan? Oh, and another question; How did Satan become Satan?

Lent

Today is the first day of Lent, a time of year when many Christians remember the time of Christ leading up to the cross and usually "give up" something in order to inwardly meditate on the meaning of this event in our lives. Last year was the first year that I paricipated in Lent and I've chosen to do so again this year. I am curious if any of you are participating. Let me know!
Every Blessing,
Missy

Katherine

Please keep Katherine in your prayers. She has scarlet fever which is a strep A infection. She has a rash all over and it is blistering and peeling in her groin area. So as you can imagine, she is pretty uncomfortable. I was a Little House On the Praire fan, so the term scarlet fever seems scary. But with modern day medicine, this can be easily treated without much worry.

Katherine woke up this morning throwing up and had a fever. Eric and I found Katherine and nurse Effie sawing logs on the living room floor.

Field Trip to the Fire Station

Today, I went with the girls to the fire station for their class field trip. All the kids were good and asked lots of questions. Here are a few photos of the trip. We missed having Jayden with us. We hope he is better soon. For all of the southern viewers, we are getting ready for a big winter storm here. I've filled our coolers with water and filled a couple of bath tubs up just in case. We are supposed to have 6-8 inches of snow plus up to an inch of ice. I am ready for a snow day! I'll take some pictures tomorrow to share.

Sorry

Sorry for the delay in the blog. Not only have I been neglecting the blog, but also the treadmill. Running inside is just not for me! The past week has been busy with a lot of running around. Katherine is now officially out of pull-ups during both day and night. That means after 8.5 years, we finally don't have to put them on our grocery list. Here is a picture of Katherine on the first night she decided she was going to stay dry all night.

Wrestling Fun

Tonight was the boys' third wrestling tourny of the season. It was a fun time for all. Marcus had 2 matches. He won one and lost the other 11-10. He is our smiling wrestler. No matter how tough a match, he never stops smiling. Ethan wrestled once tonight and had a tough one. He lost, but did his best.

Next Thursday is the last tourny of the season. It starts at 6. If anyone would like to come out to watch, we would love to have you. We will probably go out for pizza afterwards.

A Shocking Small Group

Small group tonight started off with a "new" old lamp and a shock. Lissa ( on left) warned Desi (right) to not touch the less than fashionable lamp. Desi's last words were, "I hope I don't get shocked". Desi plugged it in and then it happened -a loud pop and then sparks. Desi was left with a black hand and two holes between her fingers. As you can tell she's going to make it.

I am enjoying the girls I teach. They are juniors and seniors and just all around a good bunch of girls. The youth minister at our church left this summer, so they are anxious to get a replacement soon. As of now, we are in between studies so if anyone has a good suggestion for older teenage girls let me know.

Other events of the day....Eric was right and I was wrong. Marcus has had a tooth ache for a few days. I didn't want to call the dentist because I figured it was just a molar coming through. Come to find out, Marcus has an abcess and has to have his tooth taken out. Luckily it is a baby tooth. So for now, antibiotics and advil.
The picture of Lily on top was supposed to be here. I'm not sure what happened, looks like I need more practice. Lily was looking especially cute playing with her new friend Nikki, so I thought I'd share.

Starting out

I'm not sure why I'm doing this. Maybe because I get bored running inside and need something to think about. First, I think I should be applauded for actually finding a URL that wasn't already taken. I went through all my great ideas to find that other people share them as well. I guess I'll need to visit their blogs to see what they're about. Bigmama here I come.

With this blog I intend to let all of my friends be more apart of my life through photos and various thoughts. Maybe if I keep this up, I can have a good reason to ask for a little camera next year for Christmas. The camera we have now is wonderful, just a little bulky for my pocket.

For now, I better get to the dishes....
